Cafe footage- We were very lucky to be able to film the cafe shots, as a member of our group works there and we were able to get the whole cafe to film after hours. This allowed us to get all the correct shots without any problems occurring. This resulted in excellent footage and we did not need to
Re-shoot. (October 16th)
Photoshoot- The photo shoot was very difficult to organise as we could only commit to this task depending on good weather, and whether all of our band members could make this date. We decided to shoot on Thursday 12th November at 7.45am and we were very lucky to have the sun rising in our photos and all band members were available, and it turned out to be very successful.
Pub Footage- We decided to shoot a meeting scene somewhere close buy so that we could also film the house footage in the same night. Here is where we filmed some of our meeting footage and this was a last minute decision as we did not include this in our rough cut. (Friday 13th November)
Home footage- For our home footage we realised that this would take longer than one day to film so we organised our time wisely and attended my house where the footage was going to be filmed on (Monday the 9th November, Tuesday 10th November and Friday the 13th November). Here we filmed 'Jack going crazy' and some occasional flashbacks. We also filmed jack watching the home video shots and others such as the photo album.
Performance footage-
In our rough cut we filmed 3 hours of performance shots, this appeared to be very difficult as we did not plan enough what types of camera angles and movements we wanted. A lot of the time was taken up by figuring out what lighting fit best with our performance. The re-shoot of our performance shots was on Monday 16th November. We planned in advance what we wanted out of our limited time in the Drama studio and we were able to complete the full performance in 1 hour 30 minutes, with some killer shots.
Park footage-
The park footage was one of the most important parts in our music video. Here was where we were going to put our editing skills to the test. We had to make sure that the park was deserted and the weather was suitable to film. We were lucky enough not to encounter and major problems whilst filming and we are very happy with the results.
Beach footage-
From the feedback from our rough cut, it was decided that we needed to include a dramatic death scene. We decided to shoot this on a nearby beach with spectacular scenery on Friday 20th November. Here we filmed the opening scenes and the very end scene. We did come across some obstacles whilst trying to film this as the tide was coming in very quickly and we were racing against the sunset, however we came out with some excellent footage.
